5 Simple Actions to Help Your Dishwasher Make Your Dishes Shine Again

If you're like most of us, you've probably never actually read the manual for your dishwasher. But it turns out that the little book that came with your appliance is full of useful information about how to get your dishes clean and shiny.

We've put together a quick guide to help you make sure you're using your dishwasher correctly:

  1. First, don't overload your dishwasher—that'll mean less water and detergent, which means dirty dishes! If you've got a full load of dishes, try washing half of them by hand before putting them in the dishwasher so you can use more detergent and water when it's time for the machine to do its thing.
  2.  Make sure you're loading your dishwasher correctly. If you don't know how to do this, check out our blog on how to load your dishwasher.

  3. Use Finish detergent! This will help your dishes dry faster, which means fewer spots and streaks on them when they come out of the wash cycle. You can find them in the laundry aisle at most grocery stores.

  4. Run vinegar through the rinse cycle once or twice a month—it's an easy way to prevent build-up and keep things sparkling! We recommend using white vinegar for this purpose because it won't leave any odors behind (unlike lemon juice).

  5. Clean out the filter every month or so—this will help reduce odors, keep everything running smoothly, and extend the life of your appliance!

Let make your dishwasher the hero of your home again and help those dishes shine.   Remember one more thing, always put the Finish tablet underneath the bottom rack in the dishwasher.  This will help those dishes shine and sparkle.
